Scooby-Doo is a long-running animated cartoon TV series first aired in America in 1969. The original series was created for Hanna-Barbera Productions by writers Joe Ruby and Ken Spears. Main character Scooby Doo is a large talking dog who travels around the world in a van with four teenagers, solving mysteries, usually of a supernatural nature. These ghostly mysteries usually turn out to have a rational explanation and are really criminal plots disguised by special effects.
